Mitsubishi Electric Will Power Large Solar Winery Project
Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA's Photovoltaic Division will provide high-efficiency solar panels for one of the world's largest solar projects at a winery. The 1.2 megawatt solar system installation at Constellation Wines US' Gonzales Winery in Monterey County, Calif., will cover approximately 170,000 square feet of the main winery warehouse roof, and will provide about 50 percent of the winery's total energy requirements.

NSP & Solarday Sign US $210M Solar Cell Deal
Neo Solar Power (NSP) and Solarday S.p.A. announced that the two companies have entered into a 5-year sales contract with a total value of US $210 million. This new contract, which will run from 2009 to 2013 calls for the delivery of solar photovoltaic cells and comes in addition to an existing 3-year sales contract between the two companies.

CSI Signs 60-MW Deal with Systaic
Canadian Solar Inc. (CSI) announced that it has signed a sales contract with Systaic AG of Germany. Systaic will purchase 60 megawatts (MW) of regular solar modules for delivery in 2009. Systaic has been a customer of CSI since the beginning of 2008.

Standard Solar Raises US $8.5M
Standard Solar Inc. announced that it has raised US $8.5 million to fund expansion that is aimed at meeting growing demand in its targeted residential and commercial markets. Truecast Capital of Middleburg, Virginia completed this second-round of company financing with investments from several private and institutional investors despite turmoil in financial markets.

CEO of SPG Solar to Speak at Solar Power International 2008
Dan Thompson, founder and CEO of SPG Solar, Inc. will be speaking in San Diego on October 15th at the Solar Power International 2008 Conference and Expo. Hydro Invests US $15M in Ascent Solar
Norwegian firm Hydro announced that it has invested US $15 million in Ascent Solar. The purchase took place as Hydro exercised a call option issue, increasing its ownership share in Ascent Solar from 26.5 to 35 percent.

Solectria Delivers 5-MW of PV Inverters to South Korea
Solectria Renewables has completed delivery of more than 5 megawatts (MW) of its 95-kilowatt (kW) three-phase grid-tied inverters for multiple photovoltaic (PV) systems in South Korea. These systems were designed and installed by Hyundai Heavy Industries and Jarada Co. Ltd., Solectria Renewables' distributor in South Korea.

Solyndra Releases Details on "Game Changing" Solar System
Solyndra Inc. announced that it has released a new solar photovoltaic (PV) system for the commercial rooftop market. The company said that its technology could be "game-changing" and that the PV system is designed to generate significantly more solar electricity on an annual basis from typical low-slope commercial rooftops with lower installation costs than conventional flat panel PV technologies.

MMA, SunPower & Gap Partner on 1-MW Solar System
Gap Inc., MMA Renewable Ventures and SunPower Corporation, have unveiled a 1-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) system at Gap's West Coast distribution center campus. The installation, one of the largest in Northern California, features a ground-mounted solar tracking system on a five-acre site.

RayTracker GC To Support 2 MW of Solar Energy
Energy Innovations Inc., a manufacturer of commercial solar products announced that the company's RayTracker GC product has been installed by several new customers and will be included in installations representing more than 2 megawatts (MW) of solar energy starting this month. RayTracker GC is a single-axis solar tracker for ground-mount and carport-mount applications.

Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital Goes Solar
Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital today announced it will become the first healthcare facility within the Sutter Health system to install solar power. Sutter Auburn Faith has plans for a 736-kilowatt (kW DC) solar electric system that will meet about 50 percent of the hospital's power needs. SPG Solar, a leading California solar installer, will design and construct the system, which will include an elevated installation in the employee parking lot and a ground-mounted tracking system on the adjacent property. Sutter Auburn Faith has partnered with premier solar energy services provider Tioga Energy to remove all upfront costs and ongoing maintenance requirements for the solar power system.
